Join TiF’s Suganya Tharmalingam in conversation with Ken Kandeepan, Chief Financial and Risk Officer, Ontario Financing Authority (OFA), on the role of public finance for the common good.

As CFO, Ken is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting of the Province’s debt, derivatives and Interest on Debt expenses presented in the Annual Budget and Public Accounts of the Province. As CRO, he is responsible for the implementing and managing an effective risk management system for the borrowing, hedging and investment management of a debt and derivative portfolio that is in the hundreds of billions of dollars and an investment portfolio that is in excess of $20 billion. Ken has a CPA and CFA and a Chartered Accountant from Sri Lanka, and lives in Markham, Canada with his wife and daughter.

Suganya was the former Managing Director, Member of the Investment Committee, and Chief Financial Officer at Kensington Capital Partners and a former Vice President at Deerfield Capital Management, a Chicago based fixed-income investment adviser. Suganya is a Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Professional Accountant, Certified Valuation Analyst, and holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Management and Economics from the University of Toronto.
